Hi! I’m Nicole, a strategic communications leader driving audience growth, editorial strategy, and impact storytelling for mission-driven organizations.

 

With more than 10 years of experience, I’ve led national campaigns and cross-platform initiatives across higher education, public health, corporate, and nonprofit sectors.

 

I specialize in PR and brand storytelling, digital marketing, and cross-team collaboration, connecting core audiences while elevating historically marginalized voices and subject matter experts. I blend journalistic strategy, creativity, and curiosity to deliver measurable, meaningful impact.

PR Writing and Storytelling

Writing is my foundation. I specialize in storytelling and editing for a variety of audiences, and have the ability to adapt written material to fit organizational needs and priorities. I specialize in executing partnership deliverables through blog writing, web content development, and community-focused messaging.

My work has been featured in a wide variety of publications, including Psychology Today, the Baylor College of Medicine Blog Network, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation Blog, and Houston Public Media.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Collaboration is key in times of normalcy and crisis. I have experience in working with diverse constituencies and reconciling conflict among disparate personalities. I have worked with physicians, scientists, and experts to break down complex topics for a multitude of audiences. I've designed and led national public health webinars, collaborating with subject matter experts and community partners to educate audiences, drive engagement, and support public health and school attendance initiatives. Additionally, I  received the Association of American Medical Colleges’ 2017 Award for Excellence in the “Shoestring” category.

Editorial Management

I am an editorial leader who understands how to achieve success by championing organizational themes, incorporating relevant pulse points, and managing a year-round editorial schedule for various platforms - including blogs, newsletters, and social media. For example, I led Healthier Generation’s partnership with Labcorp on the Make Way for Better Campaign, generating consumer awareness around the importance of preventive care. The campaign successfully reached more than 10,000 campaign website visits.

Communications Project Management

I have served as a project manager for communications campaigns, marketing and institutional web management. I currently develop and lead national campaigns to elevate brands and strengthen corporate partnerships. I recently led the dissemination of Healthier Generation’s 2024 Merck vaccination market research study, which garnered 48.6 million media impressions.

 

In 2021, I served as lead project manager for the design and website content migration of Baylor College of Medicine's intranet platform, positively impacting more than 16,000 end users.
